Amir Goudarzi has more than 13 years of bioprocess industry experience. Amir started off his career as BioProcess Engineer at Archer Daniels Midland and CB&I in the Netherlands, focusing on various Conceptual-, Basic-, and Front End Engineering Design projects. Amir then joined the CDMO company DSM Biologics (now Thermo Scientific) as Scientist Process development and later as Process Development manager, where he contributed to global Tech transfer projects as well as developing various breakthrough USP & DSP technology solutions. Later on, Amir led microbial fermentation development team of Corbion, in the Netherlands & Spain, where he was leading various innovative technology & PAT projects across global sites of Corbion. In 2018, Amir joined UCB Pharma's Biologics Pilot Plant team in Belgium. The main focus of Amir & his team is industrialization of UCB's late stage biologics. Amir holds a MSc Degree in Biotechnology and a Professional Doctorate in BioProcess Engineering (PDEng) from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
· Evaluating the performance of single use bioreactors and filtration units through real-world case studies
· Analysing the underperformance of smaller single use elements over a number of years in different facilities to illustrate the challenges still to be addressed
